FrankEve Human Development Foundation is a non-profit, humanitarian and non-governmental organisation that has the primary goal to provide in the needs of the less fortunate youth. We especially try to help girls and women, school dropouts and single, young mothers. We offer a training program as well as health education about HIV, Aids and personal hygiene. Hereby we hope to equip the girls to become economically stable to overcome life challenges. We try to teach them entrepreneurial skills as well as moral principles, modesty, honesty and hard work.
The target group
Our target group consists mainly of girls who come from some of the more remote parts of the country. We sometimes have young men following our courses as well.
The majority of the girls have improper parental guidance and care, and most of them don’t have a proper meal every day. There is a group who has to walk about 5 km to school and back, every day. Since most of them are quite pour, if they want to continue school, they have no time to work for their money. This makes them easy victims to men who will promise to provide in their daily upkeep. But never for free.
Francisca and FrankEve
I founded the FrankEve Foundation in 1998, when I was a young graduate. I suffered from hunger and faces difficult challenges during my schooldays, conditions that a lot of Ghanaian children experience. Because of this never forgotten experience, I pledged to do anything possible to start a charitable, vocational training program that addresses the need of Ghanaian children.
I started the centre with three girls. At the point where we were about to give up, due to the inability to finance the program, I met Evans. He supported the foundation with the resources he had, because he believed in the cause. In 2001 we officially registered the organisation and named it FrankEve, a combination of Francisca and Evans.
FrankEve believes that every child, regardless of socioeconomic status, has the potential to master an employable skill that will boost her income-generating capacity and grant her confidence and financial independence.
From all the people of FrankEve,
who are putting skills first.
Thank you very much!
